Clauss and Travers net four goals to lead 12-8 win over GCC

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Rachel Clauss and Laura Travers both recorded four-goal games to lead Washington & Jefferson's 12-8 Sunday morning women's water polo victory over Grove City in the Presidents' final match of the Virginia Military Institute Tournament.

The Presidents collected a 2-2 record at the season-opening invitational.  Morgan Kinyon was the winning goalie versus the Wolverines (1-4) after notching five saves.

Washington & Jefferson snapped an 11-game losing streak to its local rival.  The Presidents had not defeated Grove City since May 2, 2009 at the Collegiate III National Championships by an 8-7 margin.

Sarah Latzo added a pair of goals, while Sara Boldt and Margot Wummer both found the back of the net once.

W&J returns to action on March 14th at Utica.  The Pioneers will be hosting a conference play weekend in New York.
