Women's Water Polo

W&J bounces back with two wins in California

PASADENA, Calif. -- Washington & Jefferson nipped ninth-ranked Connecticut College 4-3 and then defeated Caltech 8-5 Thursday in women's water polo action during the team's spring break trip to the west coast.

Laura Travers netted two goals against the Camels to lead the Presidents (7-6).  Sara Boldt's goal during the third quarter made it a 4-2 W&J lead and the Presidents hung on from that point.  Morgan Kinyon made 10 saves in goal, while Catherine Villa supplied the other W&J goal. 

Against host Caltech, Gabriele Rodriguez netted threegoals, including a pair in the second half.  Mariel Mancini fired in a pair of goals, while Villa, Madison Nervig and Brittany Hopkins all added one.  Julia Nadovich turned back eight shots in goal.
