LA VERNE, Calif. -- Eighth-ranked La Verne defeated Washington & Jefferson 8-4 in the Presidents' final match during a west coast swing over spring break in California.Â
W&J (7-7) only trailed the Leopards (2-15) by one goal (3-2) after the first period, but La Verne held Washington & Jefferson scoreless for the second and third periods, while scoring five times. Five different Leopards scored during the win and Jacqueline Rojas made four saves in goal.Â

Ally Hopkins collected nine saves.
W&J hosts a three-day water polo event at the Henry Memorial Natatorium starting on Friday when it hosts Grove City at 9:00 am.Â
