Box Score WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Mount Union scored 14 times in the first half and cruised to a 18-3 women's lacrosse victory over Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday evening at Alexandre Stadium.
The Purple Raiders (10-1) won their 10th consecutive game after out-shooting the Presidents (0-6) by a 34-7 margin.
Mount Union had seven different players score goals led by Emily Bergert's five-goal effort (four in the first half). Kelsey Shewbridge also had five goals for the Purple Raiders.
Alex Dikos scored the first W&J goal early in the second half, while
Diana Harvey added another on a free-position attempt with 11:30 remaining. Dikos netted the Presidents' final goal off a pass from
Michaela Mulokey.
Kelsey Roetenberg stopped 14 shots in goal for the Presidents.
Washington & Jefferson returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Oberlin at 3:00 pm at Alexandre Stadium in the second match of a four-game home stand to end the regular season.
