Men's Soccer falls at Denison, 3-0

GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team dropped a consecutive match with a 3-0 loss at Denison in non-conference action.

The loss drops the Presidents to 1-2 to open the 2014 season. Denison improves to 2-0-1 on the year.

The Big Red scored a pair of goals early, with scores at the 8:10 and 14:16 marks of the match. They added to their lead 3:41 into the second half to close out the scoring on the day.

For the match, the hosts out-shot W&J, 18-5, and attempted three corner kicks to the Presidents' zero. James Calvert was the only Washington & Jefferson player with multiple shots at two.

Jon Best suffered the loss after allowing three goals and making three saves in 62:46. Ben Wilt relieved him for the final 27:14 and made a pair of saves.

The Presidents return home on Wednesday, Sept. 10 with a 7 p.m. match against Pitt-Greensburg at Alexandre Stadium.
