RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's water polo west coast swing opened up with a pair of losses to teams ranked in the top 10 of the Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III rankings.
The Presidents began the day with an 11-7 defeat at the hands of No. 6 University of Redlands before being handed a 12-6 setback against No. 3 Chapman.
In the opener,
Sara Boldt paced W&J with a hat trick and
Madison Nervig added two goals.
Ally Hopkins stopped nine shots in the loss.
The nigthcap saw six different players find the back of the net for the east coasters, while
Morgan Kinyon made 10 saves against Chapman.
W&J continues play in California with a 10 p.m. Eastern (7 p.m. Pacific) contest at Occidental on Tuesday, March 17.
