Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Washington & Jefferson softball team earned a pair of victories to move to an even 2-2 on the season.
W&J began the day with a 7-1 victory over Transylvania (Ky.) before scoring a 6-4 win against the University of New England (Maine). It was the first-ever meeting between the Presidents and either school.
Against Transylvania,
Jen Bahm went 2-for-4 with a double and triple and
Morgan Figura was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles.
Krista McCartney earned her first win of the season, giving up three hits and striking out four.
In the New England game, the Presidents plated one run in the third and sixth innings and four in the fourth.
Emily Watson earned the win in the circle, with McCartney pitching the seventh for her first save of the year.
The Presidents will play Oswego State and Framingham State on Monday, March 16 at 1 and 3 p.m., respectively.
