LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's water polo team earned a 12-9 win over Occidental for its first win of the California trip.
The Presidents move to an even 6-6 on the season after dropping their first two contests on the west coast to top 10 Division III teams. W&J will close out their stay in Southern California with an 8 p.m. Eastern (5 p.m. Pacific) start against Caltech on Wednesday, March 18.
Laura Travers led the way with four goals in the victory, while
Madison Nervig and
Brittany Patterson each added two tallies. The Presidents also received scores from
Sara Boldt,
Rachel Clauss,
Alexandra Gartner and
Tess O'Neill.
Ally Hopkins stopped six shots in cage while
Morgan Kinyon recorded four saves.
