GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's water polo team used a five-goal first quarter to coast to a 14-3 win at Grove City.
With the win, a Collegiate Water Polo Association victory, the Presidents improve to 2-3 on the season while the Wolverines drop their season-opener to fall to 0-1.
W&J led 5-0 through one quarter and 9-1 at halftime before cruising to the 14-3 victory.
Sara Boldt scored three goals to lead all players, while
Aliya Abdelhak,
Madison Nervig and
Allison Rocha each added two tallies.
Ally Hopkins (three) and
Morgan Kinyon (four) combined to make seven saves in goal for the Presidents.
The two teams will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Henry Memorial Natatorium. W&J will honor its seniors before the first game of the day, a 4:30 p.m. start against Penn State Behrend.
