WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Presidents received multiple goals from five different players in a 16-5 win over Grove City at the Henry Memorial Natatorium.
The Washington & Jefferson women's water polo team improves to 4-3 on the season while riding a three-game winning streak, all in Collegiate Water Polo Association action. The Presidents are the No. 10-ranked team in NCAA Division III in the CWPA rankings.
The Wolverines scored first to take a 1-0 lead 1:55 into the contest.
Allison Rocha answered the goal 27 seconds later to tie the game before
Sarah Latzo gave W&J the lead for good at 5:02. A tally by
Sara Boldt with 2:52 to go in the first quarter was the lone remaining score of the period with W&J holding a 3-1 lead through eight minutes.

Elizabeth Klock and Boldt in the second quarter gave the Presidents a 6-1 advantage by halftime.
Brittany Patterson got on the board 43 seconds into the second half before Rocha added another to take the lead to 8-1 and end an 8-0 run. W&J closed the game with an 8-3 advantage over the final 11:30 for the 16-5 victory.
Boldt, Rocha and
Alexandra Gartner each recorded hat tricks with three goals apiece. Klock and Patterson tallied two scores, with Clauss, Latzo and
Laura Travers adding a goal each.
Morgan Kinyon made seven saves in goal and
Ally Hopkins added a pair of stops.
W&J travels to Erie, Pa., and Penn State Behrend, tomorrow -- Sunday, March 8. The Presidents open up with Mercyhurst at 1 p.m. before squaring off with the host Lions at 3 p.m. Live video links for both games are available on the
