Box Score 2 PITTSBURGH, Pa. – In a conference doubleheader against Chatham, Washington & Jefferson swept, first with an 8-0 shutout in five innings and then with a 13-2 victory in six.
In the first showing of the day,
Rachel Marx went 3-4, hitting a single and two triples while scoring a run.
Emily Watson contributed to the win going 2-3, posting a pair of doubles and two runs.
Ally Doty also went 2-3, notching two singles and scoring one run.
Meghan Staab scored two runs, with
Logann Woodley and
Jamie Smith each registering one run each.
Krista McCartney pitched all five innings of the first matchup, recording her second shutout of the season while only allowing two hits with no walks.
Taylor Andres pitched the six innings of the second game of the day, throwing five strikeouts and sacrificing no walks.
Woodley and Andres led the offense, scoring a trio of runs each. Andres went 4-5 with a pair of doubles and two singles while Woodley posted a single and a double.
With a pair of runs, Watson also earned a double in the second game of the day.
Staab went 3-4 with two singles and a triple, scoring a run in the process.
Abby Cunningham, Smith and Doty also tallied one run in the second game victory.
W&J will travel to Erie, Pa. for a doubleheader against Penn State Behrend, with the first pitch set for 1:00 pm.
