WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Senior Amirah Moore (Moon Township, Pa./Moon) reached 1,000 career points with a career-high 25 in a 62-42 Washington & Jefferson win versus Westminster.

The victory increases W&J to 17-3 on the season thanks to an 11-2 mark in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. The Presidents will travel to Pittsburgh next for a 6 p.m. game at Chatham on Saturday, Feb. 3.

Moore became the 17th W&J women's basketball player to reach 1,000 points with a layup at the 1:00-mark of the first quarter. She came into the game needing just five points, but started 0-for-3 from the field before hitting on a layup at the 3:03 mark. A pair of free throws at 1:52 got her within one point of the plateau and she reached the mark two possessions later with a fast break layup off of a steal, which also gave W&J a 17-12 lead at the time, en route to a 19-12 lead through 10 minutes.

As a freshman she recorded 160 points and then nearly doubled that amount as a sophomore with 315. Last season, she added 252 points in just 18 games and has contributed 293 through 20 games in 2017-18.

W&J led by nine points, 34-25, at halftime, but Westminster opened up the third quarter with a 6-0 run to make it just a three-point game, 34-31. From that point, W&J opened the lead back up to double digits, where it would remain through the remainder of the contest, with an 11-1 run that lasted 5:33. Moore scored five points during the spurt and Alie Seto (Allison, Pa./Brownsville) added four points and Nicole Ricketts (Montgomery Village, Md./St. John's Catholic Prep) chipped in a layup over the same period.

Moore's 25 points led all players and topped her previous best of 23 points from earlier this season against Mount Union. The senior was 8-of-16 from the field and 9-of-11 at the free-throw line in the game she entered the W&J record books. Seto tallied the first double-double of her career, scoring 10 points and pulling down a season-best 12 rebounds. It was the fourth time she has scored in double figures, but the first she's rebounded double digits. Seto also ahd three steals.
