How it Happened: The Washington & Jefferson women's water polo team opened its 2018 season with a 22-3 loss at home to Virginia Military Institute on Friday, Feb. 16.
 
Top Performers: Lexie Gartner (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) got the Presidents on the board in the first quarter to tie the game, 1-1. Macel Reising (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) followed with a goal in the second quarter and Marissa Whitby (Los Angeles, Calif./Eagle Rock) tallied the fourth quarter W&J score.

What's next: The Presidents will be back in action on Saturday, March 3, when they travel to Bloomington, Ind., to take on Hartwick at 12:30 p.m. followed by Marist (N.Y.) at 4:15 p.m.
