Women's Water Polo drops a pair in Ohio

Where: Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio
Opponent: Salem University
Result: Loss 14-1 
 
How It Happened: The Presidents fell behind 3-1 after the first quarter before allowing four goals in the second to trail 7-1 at halftime. Salem outscored W&J by a 7-0 margin in the third and fourth quarters to finish off the victory. 
 
Top Performer: Freshman goalkeeper Cecelia Weiss (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) made 11 saves in net in the loss. 
 
The Rest: Sophomore attacker Marissa Whitby (Los Angeles, Calif./Eagle Rock) registered the lone goal during the match for W&J.

Result: Loss 13-8 
 
How It Happened: Powered by a pair of goals by Chloe Magyari (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington), W&J jumped out to an early 3-2 lead after the first quarter. Wittenberg battled back by outscoring W&J by a 6-1 margin in the second to take an 8-4 lead after two quarters. The Presidents pulled within one score (8-7) after using a 3-0 run in the third quarter. The host Tigers pulled away for the victory by using a 5-1 spurt in the fourth to win by a 13-8 final. 
 
Top Performer: Magyari led the offense with three goals against Wittenberg.
 
The Rest: Whitby registered a pair of goals against the Tigers, while Kirsten Yatsko (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion), Samantha Worobetz (Mason, Ohio/William Mason) and Kiera MacWhinnie (South Portland, Maine/Waynflete School) tallied a goal apiece. Weiss registered 10 more saves in goal against the Tigers.
