WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College Wolverines edged the Washington & Jefferson College women's water polo team by a narrow 16-15 score Saturday afternoon in Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III play at the Henry Memorial Natatorium.
Megan DePrez (Claremont, Calif./Claremont) led W&J offensively with a seven-point effort (4 goals, 3 assists) on Saturday. Classmate
Ryley McClellan (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) finished with six points (4 goals, 2 assists).
Marissa Whitby (Los Angeles, Calif./Eagle Rock) tallied four assists and three steals.
Newcomer
Allie Dombkowski (Erie, Pa./Erie McDowell) scored three goals, added an assist and recorded a team-high six steals for the Presidents.
Kiera MacWhinnie (South Portland, Maine/Waynflete School),
Katelyn McKiernan (Columbus, N.J./Pennington),
Alyssa Broach (Caledonia, Mich./East Kentwood) and
Jillian Curtis (Woodland Hills, Calif/El Camino Real Charter) tallied a goal apiece to round out the scoring for W&J.
Cecelia Weiss (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) registered five saves, four steals and an assist in goal.
W&J travels to Grove City on Friday, March 26 for a rematch with the Wolverines. Start time is slated for 7 p.m.
