GREENVILLE, Pa. -- For their roles in a commanding 37-14 victory Saturday at Case Western Reserve, Washington & Jefferson junior running back
Joey Koroly (Washington, Pa./Trinity) and sophomore kicker
Sean Disbrow (Sykesville, Md./Liberty) earned weekly honors from the Presidents' Athletic Conference, the league announced Monday.
Koroly earned Offensive Player of the Week honors while Disbrow took home Special Teams Player of the Week. This marks the second time this season W&J received Offensive Player of the Week honors (
Andrew Wolf - Week One) and third time in four weeks that the Red and Black have garnered Special Teams Player of the Week (
Jacob Sarver - Week One and
Justin Huss - Week Two).
Koroly finished with 167 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns Saturday night in the Presidents' 37-14 victory at Case Western Reserve. He rushed 25 times for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns while adding four catches for 53 yards and a score. Koroly found the end zone on a 35-yard pass from junior
Justin Heacock (New Concord, Ohio | John Glenn) in the second quarter to break a 7-7 deadlock. In the fourth quarter he scored on rushes of one yard and 17 yards, respectively. Koroly's six touchdowns rank No. 2 in the PAC this season while his 341 rushing yards rank third in the league.
Disbrow was 4-for-5 on extra-point tries and drilled a career-best 34-yard field goal in Saturday night's win. With 6:43 remaining in the third quarter, he hit the field goal to extend the Presidents' lead to two possessions at 24-14.
The No. 11/No. 13 ranked W&J football team travels to Geneva College for a league game on Saturday, Oct. 2. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
