Taylor Weyrich set to compete at Division III Diving Regionals

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson sophomore Taylor Weyrich (McMurray, Pa./Seton-LaSalle) opens competition Friday at the NCAA Division III Diving Regionals. The two-day event is being hosted by Ithaca College.

Weyrich will compete in the 1-Meter Dives on Friday before participating in the 3-Meter Dives during the Saturday session. There are slated to be 23 participants in the 1-Meter and 21 entrees in the 3-Meter event. The Friday session gets underway at 2 p.m. while Saturday's session begings at 12 p.m.

Weyrich earned the PAC's Women's Diver of the Year award for the second-straight year. Weyrich prevailed on both the 1-meter board and 3-meter board, finishing with a score of 431.05 points on the one-meter board Thursday and a score of 432.75 on the three-meter board Saturday. She surpassed the qualifying standards on both boards for the NCAA Division III Region 4 (Northeast/South) at Ithaca this weekend.

"Our coaching staff and Taylor Weyrich are really excited for this outstanding opportunity to represent W&J College in Ithaca, NY for the 2022 NCAA Regionals competition this weekend," said fourth-year head swimming & diving coach Matt Rochna. "Taylor had a fantastic 2022 PAC Championship meet being named the MVP and we believe in her that she will dive to the best of her ability against the other divers. We have a strong dive list that we believe in and that Taylor will be confident performing at the Regional level. We are very proud of Taylor for making it to this stage and we are very excited to watch her on Friday and Saturday."
