THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's water polo team saw its five-match winning streak snapped with a 21-5 loss to No. 2 Cal Lutheran Wednesday evening in California.
The Presidents are 5-5 overall in 2022. Cal Lutheran improves to 11-6 on the season.
Five different Presidents scored in the match. Megan Deprez (Claremont, Calif./Claremont),
Kimber Randolph (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield),
Anastacia Didovich (Venice, Fla./Venice),
Ryley McClellan (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) and
Marcella Gallardo-Russell (Santa Cruz, Calif./Santa Cruz) found the back of the net for W&J.
W&J trailed 8-3 after the first quarter. Cal Lutheran scored all 11 goals in the second quarter to build a 19-3 halftime lead. Both teams scored a pair of goals in the fourth quarter.
The Presidents return to action this weekend when they head to Penn State Behrend to face the host Lions and Grove City on Saturday, March 26.
