ADA, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson College track & field team wrapped up the indoor season Saturday when they competed at the Polar Bear Final Qualifier event at Ohio Northern University.
On Friday, W&J's 400 Distance Medley Relay team posted a season-best time of 10:26.85 in the event. The quartet of
Julian Paul,
Ian Baughman,
Brock Pennington and
Jake Sinclair finished second in the event. The time ranks fifth best in the Mid-Atlantic Region this season.
Anthony Cestaro placed third in the 200 Meters with a time of 22.95. Cestaro added a 10th place effort in the 60 Meters at 7.17.
Baughman logged a time of 8.55 to finish sixth in the 60-meter hurdles. The 8.55 time matches a collegiate-best for Baughman.
Paul finished sixth in the 800 Meters with a time of 1:57.44.
Pennington and Sinclair finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 3K. Pennington logged a time of 9:01.35. Sinclair posted a time of 9:06.71 in the event.
On the women's side of things,
Cassie Carr and
Claire Anderson both competed in the Mile Run. Carr was sixth at 5:20.34 while Anderson finished in seventh place at 5:26.10.
W&J opens outdoor competition at the Muskingum Invitational on March 17-18.
