BETHANY, W.Va. – The Washington & Jefferson College track & field team headed to the Bethany College Mini-Meet Wednesday afternoon. The Presidents put together a strong showing, as the Red and Black recorded six first place finishes, recorded new school records and several season-best marks during the day of competition.

Cassie Carr (Girard, Pa./Girard) registered two first place efforts. She logged a time of 11:36.85 in the 3000-meter Steeplechase. That time establishes a new school record in the event. Carr surpassed her previous personal-best time by nearly 20 seconds.
Carr added a first place finish in the 5K. Carr time in at 18:38.16.
Anna Stroup (Port Royal, Pa./Juniata) logged a time of 16.19 in the 100-Hurdles and a personal-best time of 1:08.44 in the 400 Meters.
Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East) finished first with a personal-best time of 4:05.61 in the 1500 Meters, which ranks fourth in school history.
Jake Sinclair (Beallsville, Pa./Beth Center) was just behind with a season-best time of 4:06.15.
Raine Gratzmiller (Butler, Pa./Butler) was first in the 800 Meters with a time of 2:04.83.
Riley Runyon (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) logged a time of 52.76 in the 400 Meters.
Declan Fricko (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) posted a mark of 1.75 meters (5'8.75") in the High Jump.
Alex Puskaric (Irwin, Pa.) recorded a personal-best time of 24.57 in the 200 Meters and in the 400 Meters (54.13).
Paul Collier (Heath, Ohio/Heath) finished with a season-best time of 16:41.29 in the 5K.
Kevin Sullivan registered a career best mark of 43.02 meters to finish first in the Javelin.
W&J returns to action this weekend.
Claire Anderson (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) and
Ian Baughman (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) will compete in the prestigious Jesse Owens Classic at the Ohio State University Friday, April 21. The Presidents, as a team, will head to Baldwin Wallace for the 53rd annual Sparky Adams Invitational on Saturday, April 22.
