BEREA, OHIO -- The Washington & Jefferson Outdoor Track & Field team concluded its pre-Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship preparations this weekend by competing at the 53rd annual Sparky Adams Invitational Saturday. The annual event was hosted by Baldwin Wallace University in Ohio.
Anthony Cestaro III (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers) led the grouping of W&J competitors in the 400. The freshman logged a personal-best time of 50.77 to finish seventh in the event.
Ian Baughman (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) was ninth with a time of 50.92 in the 400.
Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East) put together a personal-best time of 1:58.44 in the 800 Meters.
Aden Dressler (Evans City, Pa./Butler) finished with a personal-best time of 4:10.93 in the 1500 Meters.
Baughman, Cestaro III,
Karson Kline (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield) and
Andrew Bauer (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) compiled a time of 45.36 in the 4x100 relay.
Jadyn Hartner (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) and
Sarah Schneider (Warren, Ohio/Lordstown) both finished inside the top eight of the 400 Hurdles. Hartner posted a season-best time of 1:08.07 in the event. Schneider logged a collegiate-best time of 1:12.48.
Bre Trusler (Daisytown, Pa./California) raced to times of 28.30 in the 200 Meters and 1:01.25 in the 400 Meters. Her time in the 400 put her in ninth place.
Morgan Pender (Saxonburg, Pa. / Knoch) finished with a collegiate-best mark of 9.06 meters in the Shot Put.
NOTE: Baughman also competed Friday at the Jesse Owens Classic at the Ohio State. He finished with a time of 54.77 in the 400 Hurdles.
Claire Anderson (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) joined Baughman at Ohio State. Anderson competed in the 1500 Meters
UP NEXT: W&J heads to the PAC Outdoor Championships, which will be held on Aptil 27-28 at The Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park in Morgantown, W.Va.
