TRAFFORD, Pa. -- For his role in a 51-0 shutout victory Saturday at Saint Vincent, Washington & Jefferson College senior kicker/punter
Ricky Hunter (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) has been selected as Special Teams Player of the Week by the Presidents' Athletic Conference, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Hunter had an all-around solid day on special teams for the Presidents. As a kicker, Hunter converted six point after touchdowns and drilled a 31-yard field goal during the third quarter. As a punter, he played a large factor in field position, as he averaged 45.0 yards per punt. Both of Hunter's punts were downed inside Saint Vincent's five-yard line, which aided W&J's abilities to preserve the shutout victory.
W&J returns to action Saturday, Sept. 9 when they travel to Bethany College for a Presidents' Athletic Conference game. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Bison Stadium.
