TRAFFORD, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College football team's
Jacob Pugh (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, announced by the conference Monday (Oct. 14).
Pugh dialed up his third six-touchdown performance of the season in a 73-21 win over Geneva. He threw for 324 yards on 17-for-24 passing and distributed six touchdowns through the air. Pugh completed 60+ yard touchdowns to
John Peduzzi (Hilton Head, S.C./Hilton Head Christian Academy) for 62 yards and
Owen Petrisek (Ellsworth, Pa. / Bentworth) for 60 yards among his scoring tosses, as he led the Presidents to their highest scoring output since 2007. Also in the game, Pugh surpassed 6,000 career passing yards (6,201).
Pugh currently sits 10 passing touchdowns away from moving into the top five for career passing touchdowns at W&J and 11 away from holding sole posession of fifth. He also rests 1,349 yards from eclipsing the top five in career passing yards as a President.
W&J remains at home for game two of their three-game homestand to face the No. 7 ranked team in the country, Grove City, on Saturday (Oct. 19). The bout has a scheduled start time of 6:05 p.m.
