CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College track & field teams concluded their opening weekend for the 2024-25 season at the Spartan Alumni Meet hosted by Case Western Reserve.
 
Jadyn Hartner (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) led the charge for the Presidents in their second meet of the young season. Hartner was all over the indoor track, highlighting her day with a first-place finish in the 400-meter run with a three second personal-best improvement time of 1:00.63. Hartner also snagged a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.59.
 
Sarah Schneider (Warren, Ohio/Lordstown) logged top marks around the track this afternoon. Schneider took the Presidents' top finish in the long jump with a distance of 4.95 meters (16' 3") to place fifth. She also finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.79.
 
The W&J men were led by Anthony Cestaro III (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers). Cestaro tied his personal-best time of 7.04 second in the 60-meter dash to finish second. He also logged a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.72.
 
Nick DeSanto (Erie, Pa./McDowell) logged a productive day in the jump events for W&J. DeSanto took a third-place finish with a height of 1.90 meters (6' 2.75") for a new personal-best jump.
 
The Presidents track & field teams enter a pause before heading to Ohio for the Muskingum Meet #1 on Saturday (Jan. 18) to open the 2025 slate.
