WASHINGTON, Pa. – Seven different Presidents recorded goals as a balanced offensive output powered the Washington & Jefferson women's water polo team to a 15-5 win over the visiting Wheaton College Lyons in CWPA action Friday evening at the Henry Memorial Natatorium.
Emma Halle (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) and
Anastacia Didovich (Venice, Fla. / Venice) led the way with four scores apiece.
Hallie Ratcliff (Friendswood, Texas / Friendswood) and
Sydney Neumann (Long Beach, Calif. / Millikan) also recorded multi-goal efforts for the Presidents.
Rylee Mitchell (Milan, Mich. / Milan) added a goal and three assists.
Laura Anthony () also had three assists.
After seeing the visiting Lyons score first, W&J responded with five-straight goals to take a 5-1 lead after the first. The Presidents' lead stretched to 8-3 at halftime.
The Presidents netted all three goals in the third to push the advantage to 11-3. W&J outscored the Lyons 4-2 over the final eight minutes to bring the score to 15-5 by the game's conclusion. One of the fourth quarter scores for W&J was by newcomer,
Sabrina Estrada (Pico Rivera, Calif. / Santa Fe), who registered her first collegiate goal.
Sky Wald (Granada Hills, Calif. / John F. Kennedy) and
Emily Bringazi (Amador County, Calif. / Amador) split time in goal. Wald finished with six saves while Bringazi made five stops.
