TRAFFORD, Pa. – Following a record-breaking week, Washington & Jefferson College senior
Sofia Jenkins (Hughesville, Md./The Calverton School) earned weekly honors Monday from the Presidents' Athletic Conference as Offensive Player of the Week.
Jenkins racked up 19 points last week as W&J picked up wins over Chatham and Franciscan to extend its winning streak to six games. She scored four goals and added six assists in a 20-13 win Wednesday over Chatham.
Jenkins then added three goals and six more assists in a 21-12 victory at Franciscan on Saturday. For the week, she totaled seven goals, 12 assists, seven draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover and additionally became W&J's all-time leader in assists Saturday when she surpassed Caroline Kallos' previous high of 120 assists.
W&J returns to action on Wednesday, April 17 when they travel to Westminster College for a conference matchup. The game is slated for a 5 p.m. start.
