NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College track & field teams concluded action at the Muskie Meet #2 in New Concord, Ohio this evening. The W&J men wrapped the night in 9^th of 15 while the W&J women finished 14^th of 16.
 
Sarah Schneider (Warren, Ohio/Lordstown) highlighted the day for the W&J women, logging two podium finishes. Schnieder's best performance occurred during the 60-meter hurdles as the junior raced to a time of 9.80 to finish second. In the long jump, she placed fourth with a distance of 5.04 meters (16' 6.50").
 
Schneider wrapped her day on the track with a 20^th-place mark with a time of 29.30 in the 200-meter dash.
 
W&J combined for a log jam in the high jump, as Rylee Miller (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) and Alyssa Trn (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg Area) tied for 16^th place with top jumps of 1.36 meters (4' 5.50").
 
Heading the W&J men's efforts was Anthony Cestaro III (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers) in the short-distance events. Cestaro III zoomed to a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.74. He also competed in the 60-meter dash, missing the preliminary cut in 10^th with a time of 7.25.
 
Tavan Schoenberger (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) capped a productive day in the jump events. Schoenberger took third in the triple jump with a top distance of 12.37 meters (40' 7"). In the long jump, Schoenberger placed 19^th with a jump of 5.96 meters (19' 6.75").
 
Nick DeSanto (Erie, Pa./McDowell) snagged a sixth-place mark in the high jump with a leap of 1.81 meters (5' 11.25").
 
Zachary Werner (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) wrapped the Presidents' top performers at the second Muskie Meet. Werner placed ninth in the weight throw with a heave of 13.46 meters (44' 2").
 
Next up for the W&J track & field team is the YSU Mid Major Invitational scheduled to commence day one on Friday (Jan. 31). First events are scheduled to kickoff at 2:00 p.m.
