TRAFFORD, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College women's freshman Mackenzie Caron (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) has been awarded the Presidents' Athletic Conference Women's Swim and Dive Newcomer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday (Oct. 28).
 
Caron had a dominant day to lead the W&J women's swimmers against Westminster. Caron took first place in the 200 and 500 freestyle with respective times of 2:03.56 and 5:29.35. In the 100 breaststroke, she raced to a top finish with a time of 1:12.22. Her 500 free time leads the PAC so far this year, while her 200 free mark is second in the conference.
 
The W&J swimming & diving teams return to the pool in dual against Ashland on Saturday (Nov. 8). The meet is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
