WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College Department of Athletics selected Luna Balzano (El Portal, Fla. / Broward Virtual School) and Hunter Swedish (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley), as its Washington Health System Student-Athletes of the Month for February 2024. 

Each month's award winners are selected by a panel of athletic department staff, student life staff and faculty.

Swedish, a Computing & Information Studies, holds a 3.46 cumulative grade-point average. Swedish is a two-time PAC champion for the W&J wrestling team. Swedish holds a 88-23 cumulative record during his three-year career. Swedish recorded two wins by fall and added another by major decision to take the 141-pound title at the annual PAC Championships in February. 

Balzano, an undecided major, holds a 3.40 cumulative grade point average. Balzano enjoyed an impressive first year in the pool, as she picked up All-PAC Second Team honors. Balzano finished fourth in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:21.85. Balzano placed fifth in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:02.25 at the PAC Championships.
