TRAFFORD, Pa. -- The Presidents' Athletic Conference announced Washington & Jefferson College freshman Maddie Malone (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) as its Women's Swimming & Diving Newcomer of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Malone recorded four victories in W&J's sweep Saturday of Franciscan and Hiram, including three first place individual finishes on the day. Malone was first in the 100 Breaststroke (1:20.14) and 200 Breaststroke (2:48.23), as well as the 400-Yard Individual Medley (5:27.39). She was also part of W&J's winning 200 Medley Relay team.

Malone is the second W&J swimmer to claim the women's newcomer of the week honor this season. Luna Balzano earned the honor back on December 4. 

W&J returns to action at Grove City on Saturday, Jan. 20. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
