BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College women's golf team continued their fall season with the first of two rounds at the Bluffton Fall Classic. The team heads into the final round in second place, shooting a 330 as a collective.

Top W&J Individual:
Julia Barthelemy (Crescent, Pa./Moon Area) finished round one in a lone third place with a score of 80. The junior golfer currently is eight shots over par and one stroke off the top two golfers.
Notables: Freshman
Brooke Vowcheck (Peters Township, Pa./Peters Township) is in a tie for fifth place with a round one score of 82. Senior captain
MacKenzie Schmeltz (Edwardsburg, Mich./Saint Joseph) placed close behind in sole possession of eighth place with a round score of 83. Senior captain
Megan Joyce (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) and sophomore
Antolena Damico (Irwin, Pa./Penn Trafford) finished in the top 20 as well with scores of 85 and 88, respectively.
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: Ohio Northern leads after the opening round by one shot over W&J. The Polar Bears shot a collective 339 to edge the Presidents after the first round of golf.
Top Individual: Debra Brogan of Mount St. Joseph and Marisa Alfes of Ohio Northern share a tie for the lead heading into round two with a score of 79.
Up Next: The Presidents will tee off in round two of the Beaver Fall Classic at 10:20 a.m. tomorrow in Bluffton.
