WASHINGTON, Pa. - Washington & Jefferson College announced the addition of Robert Harrington as a new addition to the staff as an assistant coach of the men's and women's swimming & diving programs.
 
"We are extremely grateful to have brought in Coach Robbie as the men's and women's assistant swimming & diving coach for the 2025-26 season. Robbie brings both swimming experience from the pool as a four-year collegiate student-athlete at Saint Vincent College as well as former coaching experience," stated Head Swimming & Diving Coach Matt Rochna. "He has already demonstrated that he is committed to helping our program continue to plow forward in the PAC and the NCAA competition.
 
Harrington comes to W&J after spending four years swimming at Saint Vincent.  While competing for the Bearcats, he was named an honorable mention on the All-PAC team during the 2021-22 season.
 
"I am so excited to be a part of the W&J swim family, and I can't wait to see what this swim season brings," said Harrington. "Go Presidents!"
 
In addition to competing, Harrington served as a swimming director and coach for the South Hills Country Club in California.  He worked to create a healthy competitive environment for swimmers.  This included leading the hiring process for any new coaches and lifeguards.
 
Harrington received a bachelor's degree in marketing from Saint Vincent.
 
"Robbie has been at the helm running our mid-distance and distance pool workouts to continue to help our hard-working student-athletes reach their full potential both in and out of the pool," said Rochna. "We are excited to see the yielded results this year at the 2026 PAC Championship meet and beyond."
