THE SERIES: The Washington & Jefferson Presidents face off against Westminster for the 47th all time matchup on the gridiron. The first game between the schools was played all the way back in 1894, when W&J shut the Titans out in a 16-0 win at home. W&J won the matchup last fall 21-14 to extend its series win streak to three games. Prior to the 2022 season, Westminster had won five out of the previous six matchups over the Presidents. The last time the squads faced off at Cameron Stadium came in 2023, when W&J rolled Westminster 48-3. The last win in the series for the Titans was back in the 2021 season, when they claimed a 23-18 win in Washington.

RICH TRADITION: The Washington & Jefferson football program has won 791 games in its 132-year history (791–407–40), ranking third among NCAA Division III schools behind Mount Union (871) and Wittenberg (807). Widener (733) and Wabash (729) round out the D-III top five. Across all NCAA divisions, the Presidents' win total places them 22nd all-time.

HOME SWEET HOME: The Presidents have won 57 of their last 63 games at Cameron Stadium, boasting a .905 winning percentage. W&J has gone undefeated at home in seven of the last twelve seasons, most recently in 2023.

ONWARD OCTOBER: W&J has enjoyed consistent success in October under Mike Sirianni, going 72-16 (.818) in the month since 2003.

W&J VS. THE PAC: The Presidents have claimed 27 PAC championships—the most in league history and more than the next three programs combined. Former members Carnegie Mellon (10), John Carroll (8), and Thomas More (8) trail behind. Among current PAC programs, Allegheny, Bethany, and Grove City each hold four titles. W&J also maintains a winning record against every current PAC opponent:

HALFWAY HOME: W&J has thrived under Mike Sirianni when leading at halftime, posting a 154–6 record (.963) in such games

DOMINANT DEROSA: Senior running back Kobe Derosa (New Castle, Pa./Laurel) had a career day against Hiram last week. Derosa had 61 yards on nine carries and scored three times on the ground. In the receiving game, Derosa caught a 33-yard touchdown pass. All this production came in the first 35 minutes of the game, as Derosa did not log a snap after the opening drive of the second half. For his efforts in week five, Derosa was named as the PAC Offensive Player of the Week.

STAHL-WART SENIOR: Senior quarterback Kellan Stahl (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) was able to compile another solid performance in the week five matchup against Hiram. Stahl went 16-27 for 259 yards and two scores through the air. The senior did not record a snap in the second half of the game, as the Presidents were in firm control, leading 49-7 at the break. Stahl has passed for more than 250 yards in each of the Presidents' matchups this season.

BALL HAWKS: Sophomore defensive back Dante DeRubbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity) collected two interceptions for the second consecutive week. He became the first President defender to do so since the 2006 season, when Nick Cherish had two interceptions against Bethany to end the regular season, and followed it up with three against Christopher Newport in the NCAA Tournament First Round. Senior defensive back Angelo Volomino (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) recorded a pick for the third consecutive game. Volomino's three picks are a career high in a single season. As a unit, the W&J defense rank sixth in Division III with nine interceptions.

DYNAMIC DUO: Senior wideouts John Peduzzi (Hilton Head, S.C./Hilton Head Christian Academy) and Jacob Macosko (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) form one of the best receiving tandems in Division III. In week one, Peduzzi moved to second all-time in school history for both receiving yards and touchdowns. He stands 11 scores behind Jesse Zubik '18 on the touchdown list. Peduzzi also ranks as the active leader in Division III for both categories. Macosko sits three touchdowns shy of cracking the school's top five all-time.

THE LAST MATCHUP IN DETAIL: The Presidents and Titans last faced off in week five of last season. W&J put together an excellent defensive performance in the 21-14 win, as Dawson Dietz (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) '25 led the unit with 1.5 sacks.

The W&J offense opened the scoring on the first possession of the game, as a 13-play drive culminated in a six-yard scoring pass from Jacob Pugh '25 to Zach Cernuto (Scottdale, Pa./Southmoreland) '25. W&J added a 33-yard pass near the end of the first quarter from Pugh to John Peduzzi (Hilton Head, S.C./Hilton Head Christian Academy). Westminster fought back in the second, as a W&J drive stalled out, and Brite Cannon blocked a punt for the Titans and returned it 35 yards for a score. Late in the third quarter, Westminster tied the game on a 33-yard touchdown run on fourth down. The Presidents were able to take the lead back on a Kobe Derosa (New Castle, Pa./Laurel) touchdown run, and that would end the scoring.

SCOUTING WESTMINSTER: The Titans have put together a strong start to the 2025 season. Westminster dropped its opener to Marietta, a game where the Titans held the Pioneers to 12 points, but struggled offensively, compiling just 183 yards. The Titans have been an inefficient offense to start the season, averaging just 356.8 yards of offense through four games, ranking 106th in Division III. However, Westminster has put together a strong defensive start, allowing 10.5 points per game, which ranks ninth in Division III. The Titans gameplan is to play ball control football and win the turnover battle, as they have committed three turnovers so far this season and have forced seven.

MOVING THE ROCK: The W&J offense has been a very strong unit this season. The Presidents rank 13th in Division III in total offense, averaging 489.3 yards per game. They are powered by a passing offense that averages 326.5 yards through the air, ranking 14th in the nation. The Presidents' 124 first downs rank seventh in the division, and second amongst teams that have played four games, trailing only Wisconsin-River Falls.

HOMECOMING: The Presidents are 9-1 in their last ten Homecoming matchups. The only loss suffered on Homecoming in that time came last season against Carnegie Mellon. W&J last had Westminster as its Homecoming opponent in the 2017 season, when the Presidents were victorious over Westminster in overtime.

PRESIDENTIAL PRESSURE: The W&J pass rush has been a consistent unit this season. The Presidents rank 12th in Division III with an average of 3.5 team sacks per game. It is a well-balanced unit, with 11 different W&J defenders having at least half a sack on the season. Junior edge rusher Nathaniel Kadosh-Harris (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) leads the unit with 2.5 sacks despite missing a game. Sophomore inside linebacker Brock Sherman (Copley, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) ranks second on the team with two sacks, and leads the team in total tackles with 34.
