TRAFFORD, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College freshman Mackenzie Caron (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) has been selected as the Presidents' Athletics Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Newcomer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday (Nov. 24). This is the third time Caron has been chosen for this award.
 
Caron led the Presidents at the annual Malone Invitational hosted with three top nine individual finishes and swam in four relays that placed in the top 20 throughout the week. Caron opened the week with a finish of ninth place in the 500-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 5:21.83, dropping 10 seconds off her previous best which was set in the preliminary race to rank third in the conference. She claimed a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 1:08.33, fastest in the PAC to date. Caron scored a sixth-place finish in the 1,650 free and a mark of 18:35.79, which sits second in the conference.
 
The Presidents return to action after the holiday break, hosting the W&J Diving Invitational on Friday (Dec. 5). The invite is scheduled to commence at 2:00 p.m.
