MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College track & field throwers wrapped action at the Benson/Hodge Memorial Invitational, hosted by Division I Robert Morris University.
 
Katie Kovalchick (Shelocta, Pa./Indiana Area) highlighted the Presidents efforts, finishing top four in all events she competed in. Kovalchick took her best finish in the shot put, placing third with a top heave of 11.35 meters (37' 3"). She also finished fourth in the discus and javelin throw with respective tosses of 29.63 meters (97' 2") and 33.78 meters (110' 10").
 
Riley McCaw (Claridge, Pa./Penn Trafford) ( led the W&J men with a fourth-place finish in the shot put with a personal-best toss of 11.75 meters (38' 6.75").
 
Zachary Werner (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) led the W&J men in two throwing events. Werner placed eighth in both the discus and hammer throw with respective heaves of 31.68 meters (103' 11") and 33.55 meters (110' 1").
 
Cole Pawich (Washington, Pa./Chartiers Houston) rounded out the top finishers for W&J in the javelin throw. The sophomore hurler finished fifth with a personal-best throw of 45.75 meters (150' 1").
 
The Presidents return to action Saturday (April 19) to compete at the 55^th Sparky Adams Invitational hosted by Baldwin Wallace University. Events are scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
