CHESTER, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College track & Field teams concluded action at the Widener Final Qualifier hosted by Widener University.
Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East) shattered the W&J school record in the outdoor 5,000-meter run with a time of 14.22.31 to finish sixth. Pennington's time breaks the previous record held by All-American runner Harley Moyer (14:33.81) from the 2018 season. The seniors new season-best time places him in the top 50 in the nation.
Julian Paul (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) raced to a 19
th-place finish in an 80-man field with a time of 3:54.72, just shy of the school record.
Dominic Flitcraft (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) also ran in the 5,000-meter run, racing to a time of 14:54.31.
Claire Anderson (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) ran her second-best time in her career in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:31.99.
The Presidents' track & field athletes will have one last crack at qualifying for nationals at the Mount Union Last Chance meet hosted by Mount Union University.
