Flitcraft, Kovalchick and Pennington Earn Individual Titles at PAC Outdoor Championships

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The Washington & Jefferson College track & field teams completed competition at the 2025 Presidents' Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The W&J men remained in third place with 102 team points while the W&J women followed suit in fifth place with 44 team points.
 
Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East) led the charge for the W&J men with two podium visits on the day. Pennington won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:43.28. He also placed second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:00.25.
 
Dominic Flitcraft (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) also took home a individual title in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:15.88. Flitcraft also finished directly behind Pennington in the 5,000 meter in second with a time of 15:43.33.
 
Anthony Cestaro III (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers) took two top three finishes in the sprints. Cestaro III finished third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.99 and third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.84.
 
Julian Paul (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) capped an eventful week at the conference championships with a third-place finish in the 800-meter run with a personal best time of 1:54.14.
 
Nick DeSanto (Erie, Pa./McDowell) headed the men's jumpers with a fourth-place mark in the high jump with a top leap of 1.81 meters (5' 11.25").
 
The relay unit of Ethan Coble (California, Pa./California Area), Paul, Lorenzo Zeni (Monongahela, Pa./Ringgold) and Cestaro III finished fifth in the 4x400 meter relay with a season-best time of 3:29.47.
 
Katie Kovalchick (Shelocta, Pa./Indiana Area) headed the W&J women's efforts with an individual title in the javelin throw with a season-best heave of 38.99 meters (127' 11"). Her throw currently ranks 40th in all of NCAA Division III.
 
Sarah Schneider (Warren, Ohio/Lordstown) took a second-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.158. Schneider finished .002 seconds away from taking first place over the 2025 Overall MVP Aurielle Brunner of Chatham. The junior also fifth in the long jump with a top distance of 4.98 meters (16' 4.35").
 
Maria Gilles (North Ridgeville, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) and Marina Grado (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) each placed sixth in their respective events. Gilles finished third in the 1,500-meter run with a personal-best time of 4:46.46. Grado placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.38.
 
The relay team of Schneider, Grado, Lainey Hartner (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) and Alyssa Trn (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg Area) took fifth and sixth place finishes in the relay events. In the 4x100 meter relay, the team finished fifth with a season-best time of 50.84. In the 4x400 meter relay, the unit placed sixth with a season-best time of 4:21.49.
 
The Presidents return to the competition on Thursday (May 8) at the Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational hosted by Allegheny.
