MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The Washington & Jefferson College track & field teams wrapped day one of the 2025 Presidents' Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships this evening. The W&J men currently rest in third place with 31 team points while the W&J women sit in fifth with five team points.
Julian Paul (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) spearheaded the men's efforts on the opening day of the conference championships. Paul raced to a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:36.79.
Anthony Cestaro III (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers) qualified for the finals of the 100-meter dash with a third-place finish in the preliminary round with a time of 10.83 seconds.
Noah Neil (California, Pa./California Area) also advanced to the finals with a personal-best time of 16.82 seconds in the preliminary round of the 110-meter hurdles.
A quad of jumpers including
Elijah Thomas (Washington, Pa./Washington),
Tavan Schoenberger (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown),
Hayden O'Bryon (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) and
Alex Maslo (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) all finished in succession in the triple jump. Thomas headed the group, taking third with a personal-best jump of 13.50 meters (44' 3.50"). Schoenberger and O'Bryon had personal-best jumps on the day.
Sarah Schneider (Warren, Ohio/Lordstown) headlined the W&J women on the day. Schneider took first in the 100-meter hurdles with a new personal-best time of 15.24 to qualify for the finals.
Lainey Hartner (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) and
Rylee Miller (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) also reach personal bests in the event.
Chloe LoCastro (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) reached a personal best time of 12:00.65 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to take fifth place.
Track & Field returns to the Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park on Friday (May 2) for day two of the outdoor championships. Events are scheduled to kick off at 1:00 p.m
