FOSTORIA, Ohio – Washington & Jefferson College women's golf finished the Heidelberg Invitational with a fifth-place finish after two days of the 36-hole invitational. The team shot 654 on the weekend.

Top W&J Individual: Junior
Julia Barthelemy (Crescent, Pa./Moon Area) topped the W&J golfers in a tie for seventh place with a 156 through two rounds. Barthelemy shot a 76 on Saturday to move to 12 shots over par.
Notables: Megan Joyce (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) finished close behind with a 159 through 36-holes of golf to finish in a tie for 12th. Joyce climbs the 85-golfer field with an improved 78 on day two.
MacKenzie Schmeltz (Edwardsburg, Mich./Saint Joseph) also finished in the top 30 having shot a 167 on the weekend. Schmeltz finished in a tie for 29
th place.
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: Calvin jumped to the top of the team leaderboard on day two to win the Heidelberg Invitational. The Knights shot 629 as a collective to edge Hope by two shots.
Top Individual: Brooke Barnes of Heidelberg won the individual title with a weekend score of 150. Finishing two rounds six shots over par, Barnes bested the next best golfer from Mount Union by three shots.
Up next: The Presidents return to the course after a one-week break on Saturday (Sept. 27) at the Franciscan Fall Invitational. Golfers are scheduled to tee-off at 1:30 p.m.
