TRAFFORD, Pa. – Two Washington & Jefferson College football players earned PAC Player of the Week honors after their win against No. 18 ranked Grove City, as announced by the conference on Monday (Sept. 29).
Senior captain
Kellan Stahl (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) won the Offensive Player of the Week award. Stahl picked up his first victory in sole command of the W&J offense against No. 18 Grove City, 34-14. Stahl threw for 337 yards on 28-for-41 passing and two touchdowns (15, 18). He also rushed for 23 yards and one touchdown from four yards out. Stahl's three touchdowns all came in the first half, to give the Presidents a 24-0 lead at the half.
Senior kicker
Deven Wyandt (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) was awarded the Special Teams Player of the Week honor. Wyandt was flawless in the 34-14 victory over 18th-ranked Grove City. Wyandt drilled two field goals, one from 39 yards to open the scoring and another from 31 yards and also went 4-for-4 in extra-point attempts. He also averaged 37.8 yards on six punts with two landing inside the Wolverines' 20.
The Presidents return to the gridiron next Saturday (Oct. 4) to face the Hiram Terriers on the road. Opening kickoff is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
