TRAFFORD, Pa. – For the month of December, the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) named Washington & Jefferson College junior
Jaden Wan (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock) as its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Female Scholar Athlete of the Month.
Each month, the PAC selects an upperclass male and a female student-athlete that has earned a cumulative grade point average (GPA) higher than 3.0, participates in a varsity sport, and participates in extracurricular activities on their campuses. These student-athletes portray the elite standard of their schools, the PAC, and the SAAC.
Wan is the female December SAAC student-athlete of the month. She has earned a GPA of 3.78 as a junior biology major at Washington & Jefferson College.
Throughout her time at W&J, Wan has accumulated multiple academic awards. She is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society; a fellows program Thrive Scholar recipient; a Temple Medical Scholars Program member; a Rule, Hughes, Murphy Award Recipient; a Beta Scholar, and recognized on the Dean's list.
Showing her athletic abilities, Wan has played in a total of 58 basketball games for the Presidents, scoring 347 points and grabbing 172 rebounds. This season, she has averaged 7.3 points per game, while shooting 45 percent from the field and 45 percent from the three-point range. Her season high score of 14 points was accomplished on December 17th against Carnegie Mellon.
In her spare time, Wan is the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President, NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Member, Student Government Association Representative and Finance Committee, Special Olympics Club Unified Sports Chair, and member of the Asian Culture Association Executive Board.
Additionally, Wan serves as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). She delivers emergency medical care and first aid to patients, ensuring an effective response, conducting daily inspections, maintaining equipment, and following safety protocols. She facilitates patient transfers and helps with documentation.
