TRAFFORD, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College freshman Mackenzie Caron (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) has been selected as the Presidents' Athletic Conference Women's Swim & Dive Newcomer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday (Jan. 19). This is the fifth time this season that Caron has been selected for this award.
 
Caron finished the day with three top finishes in her respective events in a victory over Allegheny. Individually, Caron won the 200 and 500 freestyle with times of 2:06.31 and 5:37.27 and finished second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:10.96. Caron also helped the 200 medley relay team take first with a time of 1:59.70.
 
The W&J swimming & diving teams return to action on Saturday (Jan. 24) for a meet against the Wooster Fighting Scots. The weekend meet is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
