SERIES HISTORY: The Washington & Jefferson College Presidents are set to face the Saint Vincent College Bearcats for the 48th time in the history of women's basketball contests between the two schools. W&J has dominated the recent meetings, winning eight of the last 10 matchups while allowing Saint Vincent to score more than 53 points only three times during that stretch. Inside Salvitti Family Gymnasium, the Presidents hold a 13–5 all-time advantage and have not suffered a home loss to the Bearcats since the 2019–20 season.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS: First-year head coach Kam Gissendanner has led Saint Vincent to a perfect 6-0 start in PAC play, tied atop the PAC's south division with W&J. The Bearcats have allowed the fewest points in the league, holding opponents to just 54.1 points per game. In Saint Vincent's last two games, the Bearcats recorded victories over Chatham and Allegheny, which finished second and third, respectively, in last season's PAC standings. Makenna Maier, Saint Vincent's leading scorer, leads the league in 3-point field goal shooting percentage, making 38 of her 89 attempts (.427) from beyond the arc so far this year.
RED HOT START: The Presidents have opened the new year with four consecutive victories as PAC play resumed. During the four-game winning streak, W&J has outscored its opponents 310–222. When combined with two PAC wins in early December, the stretch marks the second straight season the Presidents have opened conference play 6–0 or better.
SOUTHERN SUPREMACY: The top stop in the South division is on the line as both W&J and Saint Vincent enter the matchup each 6-0 in PAC action. The two squads also sport identical non-conference records.
CONSISTENCY IS KEY: Riley DeRubbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity),
Marina Grado (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway), and
Katie Kovalchick (Shelocta, Pa./Indiana Area) have each started all 15 games for the Red & Black this season. DeRubbo has scored in double figures in all but two contests during the 2025–26 campaign.
Stellanie Loutsion (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) has matched that consistency, reaching double figures in every game but two as well, despite appearing in one fewer game than DeRubbo.
STELLANIE IS SUPERB: Senior
Stellanie Loutsion (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) became the 22nd player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point milestone in W&J's win over Bethany on January 26. Loutsion scored 15 points in the victory and now sits at 1,060 career points, averaging 11.0 points per game for her career. This season, she is averaging 14.1 points per game, the best mark of her collegiate career.
SECONDARY SCORERS: Over the course of the past four games, a W&J reserve has reached double figures in scoring in each matchup. The following players have accomplished that feat
Jaden Wan (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock)- 11 points vs. Bethany (1/7/26)
Jacey Mullen (New Springfield, Ohio/Springfield Local)- 10 points vs. Geneva (1/10/26)
Michelle Jellison (Monongahela, Pa./Elizabeth Forward)- 10 points vs. Waynesburg (1/14/26)
Michelle Jellison (Monongahela, Pa./Elizabeth Forward)- 10 points vs. Hiram (1/17/26)
BATTLE-TESTED: W&J's schedule has featured five opponents that reached their respective conference championship games last season, including two that went on to win their league titles. Furthermore, four of W&J's opponents participated in the NCAA tournament last season.
PAC'S PREMIER: Since the 2013-14 season, W&J boasts an impressive 179-33 record against PAC opponents. In the last four seasons alone, the Presidents are 76-5 in league play and have been crowned league champions twice.
FABULOUS FREE THROWS: The Presidents have established themselves as one of the nation's premier free-throw shooting teams, ranking second in Division III with a stellar 78.8 percent mark from the line. This elite efficiency is anchored by two of the conference's top four free throw shooters, including
Riley DeRubbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity), whose 85.71 percent success rate ranks 31st nationally.
TOUGH SLEDDING: With one month left in the regular season W&J is still yet to play the three top teams in the league's North division, with two of those contests scheduled within the next 11 days. The Presidents next four games feature opponents that stand alongside W&J in the top half of the league standings.
