SERIES HISTORY: The Washington & Jefferson College Presidents will face the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes for the 44th time in the history of the women's basketball series. W&J holds a dominant 35–8 advantage in the all-time matchup and has suffered just one loss to Geneva since the 2011-12 season. The Red & Black rattled off 24 consecutive victories in the series from February 15, 2012, through February 7, 2024. Geneva snapped that streak in the 2024 PAC Tournament semifinals, upsetting the top-seeded Presidents, 89–75.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN TORNADOES: Geneva is led by head coach Michael Grinder, who is in his seventh year at the helm in Beaver Falls. The Golden Tornadoes rank among the top four teams in the conference in scoring margin and own the second-best turnover margin in the PAC at +4.75. Senior guard Emily Garvin has been an offensive force for Geneva this season, leading the PAC in scoring at 18.4 points per game. In Geneva's loss to Hiram on Wednesday, junior Aizlyn Thompson scored a career-high 23 points, shooting 9-of-11 from the field and 5-of-7 from three-point range.

A FORGETFUL FINISH: The Red & Black closed the 2025 calendar year with three consecutive losses, as Carnegie Mellon, Otterbein, and Ohio Wesleyan each earned victories over the Presidents. While the defeats came against formidable opponents, W&J's offense struggled during the skid, averaging just 53.3 points per game and shooting 34.4 percent from the field. The three-game losing streak marked the program's longest since the 2018–19 season, when the Presidents dropped four straight contests.

BACK ON TRACK: As the calendar turned to 2026, the Presidents turned the page as well, picking up a win over Bethany in the first slate of league games of the new year. The victory marked W&J's eighth straight win against the Bison.

STELLANIE IS SUPERB: Senior Stellanie Loutsion (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) became the 22nd player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point milestone in W&J's win over Bethany. Loutsion scored 15 points in the victory and now sits at 1,011 career points, averaging 10.9 points per game for her career. This season, she is averaging a career-high 13.5 points per game, the best mark of her collegiate career.

REVAMPED RAEGAN: After seeing limited minutes and coming off the bench during W&J's three-game losing skid, Raegan Kadlecik (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour) returned to the starting lineup against Bethany and made an immediate impact. Kadlecik recorded her first career double-double, finishing with 10 points and a career-high 10 rebounds against the Bison. The performance marked the fourth time this season she has scored in double figures.

BATTLE-TESTED: W&J's schedule has already featured five opponents that reached their respective conference championship games last season, including two that went on to win their league titles. Furthermore, four of W&J's opponents participated in the NCAA tournament last season.

PAC'S PREMIER: Since the 2013-14 season, W&J boasts an impressive 176-33 record against PAC opponents. In the last four seasons alone, the Presidents are 73-5 in league play and have been crowned league champions twice.

FEELING GOOD FROM THE LINE: The Presidents have established themselves as the nation's premier free-throw shooting team, leading all of Division III with a stellar 80.7 percent mark from the line. This elite efficiency is anchored by two of the conference's top four free throw shooters, including Riley DeRubbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity), whose 84.9 percent success rate ranks her 43rd nationally.

THE SCHEDULE SETUP: The Red & Black will compete every Wednesday and Saturday through the remainder of the regular season. W&J's matchup with Geneva marks the program's first contest against a North Division opponent in the newly aligned PAC. Under the PAC's new divisional structure for the 2025–26 season, W&J will compete in the South Division, and play a both a home and away against their fellow division rivals: Bethany, Chatham, Franciscan, Saint Vincent, and Waynesburg Their schedule features a single-game matchup against each North Division opponent—Allegheny, Geneva, Grove City, Hiram, Thiel, and Westminster.
