Brendan Cruz (Carnegie, Pa./Chartiers Valley) has been selected as the Presidents' Athletic Conference baseball pitcher of the week, as announced by the conference on Monday (March 23).
Cruz pitched a gem in game two of W&J's conference opener against Geneva. He pitched 8.0 scoreless innings with six strikeouts and two walks while allowing just five hits. Only one of those hits came in the final four innings, as Cruz retired 12 of the last 13 batters he faced in the victory.
W&J returns to action on Tuesday (March 24) to continue conference play against the Thiel Tomcats. First pitch is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start in game one of the doubleheader.
