Anderson, Platt Selected to ABCA Division III Region 7 All-Defensive Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Washington & Jefferson College baseball was awarded two spots on the 2026 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Division III Region 7 All-Defensive Team, announced by the organization on Thursday (June 18).
 
Sophomore first baseman Jack Anderson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) and junior second baseman Teddy Platt (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) were named to the Region 7 All-Defensive Teams for the first time in their careers. This marks the fourth-consecutive season the W&J baseball team has collected an All-Defensive Team player and the first time the program has had multiple earn honors. Both Presidents were also named All-PAC selections following the 2026 campaign.
 
The 2026 ABCA NCAA Div. III Region All-Defensive teams have been announced in all 10 regions. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.

Anderson and Platt were  recognized as the top players at their respective positions in Region 7, which is comprised of 49 Division III teams among six conferences, including the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC), the University Athletic Association (UAA), the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) and the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA).
 
Anderson locked down the first base position for the Presidents in his second season, finishing the year with a .329 average from the plate. He also drove in 35 RBIs and 29 runs scored. Anderson has slugged five home runs in 2026. He has reached base at a .440 clip. Defensively, Anderson has compiled a .997 fielding percentage with just one error committed this past spring. The sophomore first baseman had 344 putouts in 350 chances.
 
Platt was a defensive lock for the Presidents, playing all 45 games at second base. The junior middle infielder committed only four errors on the season for a .983 fielding percentage in 234 chances. Platt had 95 putouts, 135 assists and was involved in 21 double plays. Platt also pieced together one of his best offensive years in the batters box, finishing the season with a .316 batting average. He added 32 runs scored, 31 RBI and a team-high 16 stolen bases this season. In the win over the Gators, Platt hit for the cycle with a single, double, triple and home run in the game.
