TRAFFORD, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College senior Claire Anderson (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) has been selected as the Presidents' Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday (3/31).

Anderson broke the W&J 5,000-meter record at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by Division I North Carolina State. She raced her way to a time of 16:40.47, finishing first in her heat and besting W&J's long-standing outdoor 5k record, previously held by Kristen Galligan (17:07.57) from the 2013 season. Her time is also the fastest in the PAC this season and ranks fourth in the country so far this spring.

The Presidents return to action on Friday (April 3) for a two-day meet at the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Division II Slippery Rock. Action is set to kickoff at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
