Men’s Golf Finishes Third at the Annual Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational

CANONSBURG, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College men's golf team wrapped up the 2026 Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational in third place at the annual home event. The team shot a combined 337, two shots from the runner-up.
 
The Basics
Tournament: Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational
Location: Southpointe Golf Club
W&J: 3rd of 9
 
Top W&J Individual: Three Presidents apart of the W&J primary team finished in a tie for 11th place. The golfers included Davis Kittsley (Fox Chapel, Pa./Fox Chapel), Luke Eckmann (Clancy, Mont./Jefferson) and William Ainsworth (Woldingham, Surrey/Reigate Grammar School). Sean Clark (Madison, Wis./Monona Grove) from the W&J secondary team also finished in the nine-way tie for sixth place. Each of the golfers shot an 84 through the 18-hole invite.
 
Notables: Ryan Steigerwald (Mars, Pa./Mars Area) finished as the final placing golfer for the W&J primary team. The junior placed 15th with an 18-hole score of 85. Aftab Bakshi (New Delhi, India/Modern School Barakhamba Road) finished in a tie for 16th place on the W&J secondary team, having shot an 86 on the day.
 
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: Mount Union finished as the top team of the 2026 Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational. The Purple Raiders shot a combined 329 through 18 holes, placing three golfers in the top 10. Mount Union bested second place Pitt-Greensburg by six shots.
 
Top Individual: No. 96 ranked Brian Myers of Mount Union finished as the individual medalist of the 2026 Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational. Myers shot a 74 through 18 holes of play, besting the second-place finisher from Westminster by four shots.
 
Up Next: The Presidents return to action at the Grove City Invitational on Monday (April 20) prior to the Presidents' Athletic Conference Spring Championships.
