ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College men's golf team opened the fall 2026 campaign with a fifth-place finish at the Malone Fall Classic with a total 779. The event featured teams across Division II and Division III.

W&J: 5th out of 10
Top W&J Individual: Sophomore
Aftab Bakshi (New Delhi, India/Modern School Barakhamba Road) led the Presidents with a two-round score of 150. Bakshi moved up ten spots following the conclusion of round one to finish in a tie for 14
th place.
Notables: Freshman
Ryan Walther (Washington, Pa./Trinity)s posted a score of 176 in his first tournament a part of the Presidents. Walthers finished in a tie for 17
th. Senior
Ryan Steigerwald (Wexford, Pa./Mars Area) posted two rounds of 77 and 76 for a tied for 22
nd finish. Additionally, sophomores
Nicholas Haught (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) and
Davis Kittsley (Fox Chapel, Pa./Fox Chapel) posted two strong rounds to finish in 26
th and 27
th place with scores of 155 and 156.
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: The hosts Malone won the event by a total of 27 shots and a score of 715.
Top Individual: Fletcher Cravens of Malone won the event with a score of 138. Cravens won by a total of two shots.
