Box Score 2 WASHINGTON, Pa. --
Eddie Nogay allowed two runs on five hits in six innings during a 4-2 Washington & Jefferson game one baseball victory over Bethany, but the Bison fought back to win game two by the same score Saturday at Ross Memorial Park.
The 21st-ranked Presidents (1-1) and Bison (1-1) will play the final game of their three-game set on Sunday at Ross Memorial Park at 1:00 pm (BC will be home team).Â
Nogay improved to 23-1 overall for his college career after recording three strikeouts.Â
Kyle McLain came on to record the final three outs and worked out of a jam after giving up two base hits. McLain struck out two batters, including Zac Edmiston to end the game.Â
Derek Miller's sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning of game one put BC ahead 1-0.Â
The Presidents scored the next four runs starting in the third when
Michael Ruffing singled and scored on a wild pitch. Ruffing gave W&J its first lead of the season the next inning when his groundout scored
Nick Vento.Â
Ronny Peirish singled and scored on a Tyle Schultz sacrifice fly in the fifth inning and Vento followed with a RBI single which scored McLain.Â
Chris Koegel tripled and scored on a Miller groundout in the sixth, but Nogay and McLain shut the door from that point. Ruffing and Vento both recorded two hits for the Presidents in the opener.Â

Michael Ruffing struck out, but reached first base on a wild pitch. After advancing to second base on a balk,
Josh Staniscia singled Ruffing.
Bethany plated three runs on four hits in the third inning and added another in the fourth after Dominic Controguerra was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.Â
Peirish drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the fifth to bring W&J to within 4-2, but Joe Hoffman came on in relief of starter Zak Kozlowski to strike out McLain and end the threat.Â
Kozlowski (4 2/3 IP, 4 H, 4 K), Hoffman and Dan Patrella (1.0 IP, save) combined to limit the Presidents to five singles. Ruffing and Staniscia both had two.Â
